Honor 8X

Honor 8X (global variant) has started receiving the Android Pie-based EMUI 9 update. This is a global stable update and weighs around 3.14GB, so it’s recommended to use Wi-Fi to save data charges. In addition to the new EMUI interface, Honor 8X users will also get the goodies of the Android 9.0 Pie.

As per the changelog, the update adds features to the sound recorder such as edit and speed up the recorder. it also optimizes the interface for consistency and ease of operation. Other features include faster app launch times, simplified UI, and Huawei Share 3.0.

The Honor 8X was launched in October 2018. It equips Dolby Atmos surround sound and Huawei’s own GPU Turbo Technology to boost gaming performance.

This mid-range device has a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display and HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset with Mali G51 GPU. It’s available in 4+64GB/6+64GB/6+128GB storage options. The AI rear camera has dual sensors of 20-megapixel (primary) and a 2-megapixel (secondary).

The update is rolling out in phases so it might take some time to reach all users. In the meantime, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings>System>System update and Check for updates.
