Two Samsung’s mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy J6, and Galaxy J8 are now getting fueled with Android 9.0 Pie update. Galaxy J6 users in India and J8 users in Brazil getting the latest update. Besides the Android Pie features, the update on J8 also brings Samsung’s One UI skin and April 2019 security patch.
Although the Galaxy J6 update comes with One UI but doesn’t include the latest security patch. It comes with software version J600GDXU3BSD9. The South Korean tech giant has already updated a series of its devices to the Android Pie such as the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Note 9, etc.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 came to India last year under the budget segment starting at Rs 18,990. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor and 6-inch HD+ AMOLED display. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 256 GB).
The update on both smartphones is rolling out over-the-air (OTA) package. So it’ll slowly land on each device. In the meantime, you can check the availability manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.
