The gaming smartphone market still seems to attract public attention. The Nubia Red Magic 3 was recently revealed and should be one of the main competitors of Black Shark 2, Xiaomi Chinese option for this category.
The Black Shark 2 model was launched several weeks ago and so far has been restricted to just a few specific countries. However, more places should be added to this list soon, with it landing in India.
Announced in March, it recently received a certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), indicating an imminent launch. Now we see that this has been virtually confirmed, with Xiaomi sending out invitations to the Black Shark 2 India launch event on May 27.
Talking about the design, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has got interesting design modifications compared to the predecessor. The camera at the rear now sits in the upper left corner in a vertical module. On the front, a better frontal performance than those seen in Black Shark and Black Shark Helo, with a fingerprint reader under the display.
Being a gaming device, the handset comes with a liquid cooling system which can consume up to 14 degrees of temperature. It means no heating of the device during heavy gaming.
The highlight of Black Shark 2 is the Snapdragon 855 SoC which we’ve seen in several flagship devices from other OEMs in 2019 such as Galaxy S10 5G, Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi MIX 3 5G. The phone also offers 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, as well as up to 256 GB of internal UFS 2.1 storage space.
So we’re really excited about the Black Shark 2 India launch and to get our hands on the device. Let us know what you guys think.
