A Series of Galaxy Devices Getting the May Security Update

Samsung Galaxy Software Updates

Samsung has started rolling out the May 2019 security update to a number of its devices including smartphones and tablets. These are Galaxy J7 Duo, Galaxy J5 Pro, Galaxy Note Fan Edition, and the Galaxy Tab Active 2. It’s also reported that there is nothing much in the update except a few security fixes.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro update is around 30MB in size and as mentioned earlier, the update brings with it the Google Android security package for May 2019, which is one of the most recent versions of the package.

Update on these devices is rolling out over the air (OTA) and as usual, should be available to all users of the device over the coming weeks.

It’s important to note that among the above devices only the Galaxy Note Fan Edition has received the Android 9.0 Pie update. The Galaxy J5 Pro was launched with Android 7.0 Nougat and now enjoying the Android 8.1 Oreo.

The May 2019 security update will reach automatically on all eligible devices soon, however, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download updates.
