HMD GLobal has started releasing the latest Android 9 Pie to the Nokia 3 (2017) smartphone. As you can see, it’s a quite old device came in 2017 as a budget handset. But now this is good news for the owners of Nokia 3.

It’s important to note that there are a number of Nokia phone already received the Android Pie update including the Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 8, Nokia 5 (2017) and more.

The announcement of the new update comes directly from HMD Global CPO Juho Sarvikas through the following Twitter post:

The Nokia 3 (2017) was launched with Android Nougat and in April 2018 it got the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The phone will get the new features of the Android Pie such as Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Battery, Digital Wellbeing and more. However, it’s still not known if the phone will get the gesture navigation feature or not.

It’s a global update and will be released in phases, so initially, it’ll be available only to a small number of users. A wider rollout is expected in the coming days.
