After coming out barely of the US trade blacklist, Huawei has returned to its normal launch pace. Now, the company announced a new tablet in India, the MediaPad T5 giving its users a cheaper option. According to Huawei, this new tablet is aimed at those consumers who have no budget to buy the MediaPad M6.
Therefore, the MediaPad T5 comes to the market with simpler specifications, and its main focus is on media consumption. Thus, Huawei included in the device a screen of 10.1-inches with frontal use of 76.4%. For better video immersion, the T5 still comes with two speakers to ensure stereo sound.
Because it’s a cheaper variant, the MediaPad T5 comes with Kirin 659 processor which works in conjunction with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage. The company also claims that the device has support for memory expansion for up to 256 GB with MicroSD card. In addition, the battery of the tablet is 5,100 mAh and should ensure good freedom in daily use.
Unfortunately, the tablet hits the market with the outdated Android 8.0 Oreo running under the EMUI 8 interface. Even so, the company tries to compensate for this by offering some unique features like a dedicated mode for children.
