Xiaomi releases a timeline where it confirms the start of recruiting beta users to test Android Q on their handsets. According to the Chinese giant, the intention is to bring the software as many smartphones as possible.
So the list is somewhat extensive, and Xiaomi Mi 9 will be the first device to have the closed beta of Android Q. Recruitment starts this week, with the Redmi K20 Pro coming soon. Check out below:
- Mi 9 – 4th Quarter
- Redmi K20 Pro – 4th Quarter
- Mi 8 – 4th Quarter
- Mi 8 Explorer Edition – 4th Quarter
- Mi 8 UD aka Mi 8 Pro – 4th Quarter
- Mi Mix 2S – 4th Quarter
- Mi Mix 3 – 4th Quarter
- Mi 9 SE – 4th Quarter
- Redmi K20 – 4th Quarter
As we can see above, the owners of Redmi Note 7 and 7 Pro should only receive the closed beta in the first quarter of 2020. Xiaomi also says the current schedule is based on Google’s development cycle.
So if nothing changes until the end of the year and the tests are successful, these will be the first smartphones of the Chinese giant to receive the new Android Q officially.
It’s worth remembering that Android Q is still in tests, but it seems that beta 5 may be the final version of the software. With this, the chances of Google releasing the system to their devices by September is great.
