At about the same time when Samsung introduced the Galaxy Fold, Huawei also appeared with its foldable smartphone, the Mate X. But after the problems faced by the competitor’s device, the Chinese tech giant decided to postpone its launch without a forecast. But then rumors began to emerge that it will arrive from September.
Now, new information says that it will arrive, at least in the Chinese market, in October, with global release possibly in November. The information comes from Guan Wei from Huawei’s customer service part.
It is worth remembering that the device should arrive in the new version with a major modification, which is in the processor. Instead of Kirin 980, Mate X will have Kirin 990, which recently debuted in Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. Anyway, now is a wait to see if this will be confirmed or not and if the model will even be available for purchase in October.
It’s worth mentioning that Samsung is the first to launch the foldable phone. After fixing several problems, Samsung relaunched the Galaxy Fold early this month in the Korean market. Now the US launch is also confirmed on September 27.
The Mate X was first announced during Mobile World Congress 2019, with no specific release date. Then we saw that its launch had been suspended indefinitely so that Huawei could do more internal testing with the device.
