Xiaomi Redmi 8A Affordable Smartphone Announced With 5,000 mAh Battery

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its budget smartphone Redmi 8A in India. It’s the successor to the Redmi 7A which was launched in April this year. The design and build quality of this smartphone are quite good. This phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and will be available in two variants – 2GB + 32GB and 3GB + 32GB.

The highlight feature of the phone is 5,000 mAh battery and it supports 18W fast charging. The Redmi 8A also has USB Type C reversible connector, splash-proof P2i rating and protected with Corning Gorilla  Glass 5.

The display size is 6.22-inch with HD and has a waterdrop style notch. In the camera department, the handset offers only a single camera at the rear with 12-megapixel AI Sony IMX 363 sensor. The notch on the display houses an 8-megapixel front camera for selfie.

Android 9 based MIUI 10 running Redmi 8A does not have a fingerprint scanner but it does support AI ​​Face Unlock feature. The base variant has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Dedicated card support has also been provided for Micro SD.

Redmi 8A Price and Availability

The Redmi 8A price in India starts at Rs. 6,499 for the 2GB/32GB variant, while the price of the 3GB model starts at Rs. 6,999. It will be on Flipkart from September 29 from 12 noon. Apart from this, it will also be available on the company’s website.
