It seems that the launch of smartphones that have a display refresh rate of 120Hz will become standard by 2020. That’s because most manufacturers already started working with this technology, and even Apple should be part of this group.
Now, after announcing the Exynos 990 processor, new rumors indicate that Samsung should launch even the Galaxy S11e with 90Hz or 120Hz display. As we know, this must be the cheapest mobile phone in the S11 series and its price is usually justified by cutting some features.
However, the reliable Ice Universe published on Weibo that the 120Hz screen will be kept in the “most affordable” variant. That’s because the Exynos 990 processor already supports the technology and Samsung is considering turning it into a big draw for the device.
For now, Samsung has not said anything about speculation and rumors involving the Galaxy S11 line. Even so, including this technology in the “most affordable” device could make the S11e a kind of South Korean iPhone 11.
This is because the device must be made the most cost-effective of this generation, incorporating much of the capabilities of its larger siblings. It is noteworthy that the Galaxy S11 family has already been leaked and we recently saw that Samsung has started working with the software of the devices.
However, we do not have an official release date yet. Anyway, rumors point out that this should happen by mid-February 2020. So by then, the number of rumors should grow substantially.
