Considered the “Smartphone of the Year” in 2018, Oppo Find X was a pleasant surprise last year for offering something that few brands were producing. A device that came with a full-screen display without any notch. the company achieved this by adopting the pop-up selfie camera.
More than a year after its launch we see a huge shift from OEMs around the world aiming to achieve something similar by choosing pop-up or rotating front cameras and even secondary screens on the back cover. But Oppo has just confirmed that Find X’s successor will be arriving next year as Oppo Find X2.
In an interview with journalists, Oppo global sales leader and 5G researcher Henry Tang said the brand’s next flagship will arrive in the first quarter of 2020 equipped with Snapdragon 865 and 5G connectivity. He also confirmed that the company will not use the antennas for mmWave frequencies, which results in support for 5G sub-6GHz frequencies only.
Oppo believes there is a big gap in the smartphone screen industry in terms of resolution, refresh rate, color, and dynamic range. So the next Find X is expected to be even better in this regard than today’s smartphones.
And we’ve also learned that Oppo is collaborating with Sony to use its new On-Chip lens solution that promises to offer a larger sensor size for even clearer, sharper shots, while also improving performance during challenging scenarios such as night scenes and offering high-speed autofocus.
As said, Find X2 will be announced in the first quarter of 2020, so Oppo is expected to attend major technology events such as CES 2020 from January 7-10, or MWC 2020 from 24-27. of February.
