French video game company Ubisoft officially releases its financial results for the fourth quarter, revealing the performance of some of its titles and how many copies were sold in total, as well as plans for the current year.
According to the report, a total of 10 million copies of 11 games developed by the company were sold, namely: Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, The Division, The Division 2, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Rainbow Six Siege, Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2.
The main highlight, however, is the performance achieved by the game Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which guaranteed 90% higher player engagement when compared to Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Talking about future developments, the company foresees five relevant launches until the end of the next financial year (which will be concluded on March 31, 2021), being Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Gods & Monsters and an unofficial game that will receive an AAA seal.
Among these, the most striking is the brand’s new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which guaranteed more than 100 million views of the presentation trailer on linked channels in just 10 days, followed by Rainbow Six Siege which hit the mark of 60 million players.
Additionally, Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, also revealed that some titles may be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), and may, therefore, exceed the closing period of the financial year mentioned and leaving after April 2021.
