We already know that a cheaper version of the Galaxy S20 is under development. Speculations are being made that it should be called Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition and compete directly with other devices such as the OnePlus 8T. Now more information about the handset arrives through a benchmark.
The device appears on Geekbench 5 and by the score achieved it should use the Snapdragon 865 in its “engine”. Speaking of scores, there were 737 and 2619 points and single and multiple cores, respectively. If you are wondering about the model name on the sheet, it has already been revealed that the S20 Fan Edition is being identified internally as SM-G781.
In addition, the listing tells us that the phone should have 6GB of RAM and Android 10. However, despite the good choice for the processor, it is interesting to mention that Samsung can launch two versions of the device just as it already did with the Galaxy S10 Lite, which received an Exynos version as well.
It is not very desirable as we have already seen some problems with Samsung’s latest processor in 2020 with the Galaxy S20.
Among some of the biggest worries are problems in charging and other more serious in the device’s camera, which according to the manufacturer itself cannot be corrected with an OTA update.
Anyway, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition might take a while to debut on the market as Samsung should focus on the new versions of the Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Fold, and Note 20 that will be launched soon.
