AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) Coming This Year

AMD confirmed that its new technology competing with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is arriving this year, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). This new tech for visual enhancement is similar to Nvidia’s DLSS.

The technology is under development and should be launched in 2021, but there are no more specific dates for its arrival. According to AMD, FSR will not necessarily use machine learning to work, claiming that there are other ways to implement this type of technology, however, the company did not provide further details as to whether AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) would be applied.

Recently, a supposed benchmark revealed that the recently launched AMD Radeon RX 6700, available as of today on the international market, performed better than GeForce RTX 3070.

AMD has the second-highest percentage of sales in the GPU market today, lagging behind Intel. Nvidia is a major competitor that has been growing and even had a higher market value than AMD in late 2020.
