AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Desktop Processors Announced

Already known to the most faithful to AMD hardware, the “Ryzen 5000” APU family has just won its new desktop models – with a “G” added to its nomenclature. It is easy to identify the new advanced models in the AMD Ryzen 5000 Series: Ryzen 3 5300G, Ryzen 5 5600G, and Ryzen 7 5700G. The last of which had its specifications leaked before it was even announced.

With the global processor crisis plaguing most manufacturers, AMD is struggling to keep its release schedule free from backlogs and delays. Familiarly based on the Zen 3 architecture, with 7 nm lithography, the new members of the manufacturer’s APU line will initially be launched as OEMs, and only then will they reach the consuming public, as stated. All will have support for the main operating systems, such as Windows 10 (64-bit only) and Ubuntu (x86 and 64-bit).

Next, check out the technical specifications of AMD Ryzen 5000 Series

Specifications of AMD Ryzen 5000 Series

AMD Ryzen 3 5300G

The most basic model of the trio, the AMD Ryzen 3 5300G still has specifications advanced enough to benefit gamers and creators of graphic content.

  • Number of cores / threads: 4 cores / 8 threads;
  • Clock speed: 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz with turbo mode);
  • L2 cache: 2 MB;
  • L3 cache: 8 MB;
  • iGPU: Vega 6 (1.7 GHz)
  • TDP: 65 W;
  • Bus: PCIe 3.0;
  • RAM memory: support for DDR4 (3,200 MHz).

The model also has a version with a focus on even more efficient consumption – Ryzen 3 5300GE, with TDP reduced to just 35 W, which compromises part of its performance.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

The intermediate version of the series presents a superior cost-benefit ratio. Despite its apparently lower clock speed than the Ryzen 3 5300G, it achieves better results on the Turbo Core, in addition to having integrated graphics of a more advanced version.

  • Number of cores / threads: 6 cores / 12 threads;
  • Clock speed: 3.9 GHz (4.4 GHz with turbo mode);
  • L2 cache: 3 MB;
  • L3 cache: 16 MB;
  • iGPU: Vega 7 (1.9 GHz)
  • TDP: 65 W;
  • Bus: PCIe 3.0;
  • RAM memory: support for DDR4 (3,200 MHz).

The model also has a more efficient version (Ryzen 5 5600GE) in energy consumption, with TDP also reduced to 35 W.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G

The most advanced model in the new series had leaked specifications and benchmarks even before AMD’s official announcement, not differing much from the data we obtained at the time.

  • Number of cores / threads: 8 cores / 16 threads;
  • Clock speed: 3.8 GHz (4.6 GHz with turbo mode);
  • L2 cache: 4 MB;
  • L3 cache: 16 MB;
  • iGPU: Vega 8 (2.0 GHz)
  • TDP: 65 W;
  • Bus: PCIe 3.0;
  • RAM memory: support for DDR4 (3,200 MHz).

Even the top of the line will have an “E” version with more efficient consumption and less heat dispersion, with TDP also reduced to 35 W.

All new processors are available on the market today (13) for manufacturers. There is still no release forecast for consumers to build their own PC.
