After many rumors in recent weeks, Asus finally announces two new phones, the Asus Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip. Both are different devices, no matter how much they bring the same Snapdragon 888 inside.
The Flip model follows the trend seen since the Zenfone 6, with a camera in a flip mechanism that brings the rear sensors to the front. Serving both to take selfies and record landscapes, the standard Zenfone 8 adopts a look more in line with the rest of the market, with a hole in the corner of the screen for the front camera.
The Asus Zenfone 8, on the other hand, targets those who are tired of bigger and bigger high-end mobile phones. Offering compact dimensions that place them between the iPhone 12 and the Galaxy S21, but being a little bit fatter than both.
The device marks the long-awaited arrival of an IP68 certification, allowing its owners to be unconcerned about everyday accidents. It has an aluminum body, with Gorilla Glass 3 back with a silver or black matte finish.
Best of all, Asus continues to pay great attention to the sound system of its devices. So the great screen is accompanied by quality stereo audio with well-balanced and powerful speakers, optimized by Dirac with Cirrus Logic amplifiers. The upper output, also used for calls, acts as the second channel.
