Activision has brought the first details of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta, such as the dates and that PlayStation consoles will get the test early. The game’s beta will be available in September, almost a month before its scheduled October release. Last week, a leak brought images and a short video of the multiplayer.
There will be an open beta for all players on the platforms the title will be available on. While players who pre-order Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will have an extra period of early access. However, PlayStation players will have access to the beta for two weekends, while Xbox and PC players will be restricted to a shorter period.
According to Activision, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta will take place on the following dates:
- Early Access – September 16-17
- Open Beta – September 18-20
- Open Beta – September 22-26
Xbox and PC
- Early Access – September 22-23
- Open Beta – September 24-26
While the first weekend of the beta (September 16-20) will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The second weekend (September 22-26) will be open to all players and feature crossplay, allowing users from all platforms can play together.
According to Activision, the beta will feature robust multiplayer that will go beyond the core 6v6 player experience, offering a wide variety of maps and modes. By playing the trial period, players will earn various rewards that can be redeemed in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 at launch.
