DJI Mavic 3 Classic is a Cheaper Version of Mavic 3

A new cheaper version of the Mavic 3 drone is announced, the DJI Mavic 3 Classic. It aims to offer many of the features of the original model at a lower price range, with some small sacrifices. The new model features the same Hasselblad 4/3 to 20 MegaPixel CMOS camera, a maximum flight time of 46 minutes, and the O3+ transmission system, but no additional telephoto lens.

DJI Mavic 3 Classic is now available for pre-order starting today on the official DJI website (where you will also find more details and information)

DJI Mavic 3 Classic Features

As for the video sector, the Mavic 3 Classic camera can shoot videos up to 5.1K / 50 fps, 4K / 60 fps, and 1080p / 60fps using the encodings in H.264 and H.265, while for slow motion we switch instead to 4K / 120fps and 1080p / 200fps. Both photos and videos can be captured in uncompressed formats, then in 12-bit RAW and 10-bit D-Log.

The camera sensor is equipped with a lens with a focal length equivalent to 24 mm, a variable aperture between f / 2.8 and f / 11, and therefore allows access to 12.8 stops of native dynamic range.

Other features of the Mavic 3 Classic’s camera, designed in collaboration with Hasselblad, include the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution, which directly reproduces photos and videos with genuine and accurate colors, and the HLG system for high dynamic range photography, designed to make movies that do not require color adjustment in post-production.

There is also a night shooting video mode that reduces visual noise to allow sharper shooting, even in low-light scenarios such as sunrises and sunsets.

There is also the Cruise Control function that allows pilots to set a constant flight speed for their drone, allowing them to focus exclusively on shooting and minimizing camera shake due to manual speed control.

As for file sharing, DJI Mavic 3 Classic integrates Wi-Fi 6 connectivity which allows you to take advantage of the QuickTransfer option to send photos and videos to a smartphone at about 80 MB / s, without the need to connect to the remote control.

Finally, we also find the other classic features typical of Mavic 3, which make use of artificial intelligence algorithms, such as the ActiveTrack 5.0 system, MasterShots, and QuickShots automatic shooting modes, in addition, to supporting timelapse shooting styles, hyperlapse, and panorama.
