Elgato Launches Facecam Pro Webcam With 4K Videos Support

Elgato, a subsidiary company of the gaming hardware and peripherals manufacturer Corsair, announced the Facecam Pro. It’s an advanced webcam that promises to be one of the favorite products for live broadcasts that will rival the Meizu Lifeme Smart Camera Pro, with 4K recordings at 30 FPS.

Thanks to its powerful Starvis 1/1.8” CMOS sensor produced by Sony, Facecam Pro supports video recording in 4K resolution at 60 FPS. According to the German manufacturer, this is the first webcam in the world capable of achieving this image quality, and for that, there are a number of features behind its lens. Check the details below.

Facecam Pro has an f/2.0 aperture lens, a 21mm equivalent focal length, and supports autofocus that can be manually adjusted between distances from 10 centimeters. The webcam offers granular controls for light sensitivity, shutter speed, white balance, and other details from the Camera Hub software.

Its main advantages are made possible by its dedicated processor for real-time encoding of videos at up to 4K @ 60 FPS, image corrections, black level compensation, color enhancement, tone mapping, and much more.

Practical to mount, the accessory has an adjustable clip support called “Elgato Multi Mount” that can be inserted into the edge of the monitor or any compatible tripod. Just plug a cable into its rear panel with a USB-C port, connect to the PC and start streaming video on Twitch, YouTube, or any other platform.
