At the UK trade show, Epson has announced two new 4K Laser projectors for home use, Epson EH-LS11000W, and Epson EH-LS12000B. The products use 3LCD technology with 4K Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160) and HDMI 2.1 connection.
Both models are equipped with a blue laser light source combined with a lens capable of guaranteeing a brightness of 2,500 lumens for the LS11000 and 2,700 lumens for the LS12000, according to Epson.
The dynamic contrast ratio is 2,500,000 and the coverage is greater than 85% for the DCI-P3 color space. The delay in responding to commands is 20 ms at 120 frames per second. The projectors also support HDR10, HLG, and HDR10+.
The brand also claims that the devices can automatically recognize the content’s dynamic range (SDR, HLG, or HDR10 which also includes HDR10+) with the ability to manually force the selection.
Menus have also received some attention and have undergone a design makeover. Also new is the introduction of 40 Gbps HDMI inputs compatible with some functions of HDMI 2.1 compatible with ARC and eARC.
The enhanced audio return channel can also carry tracks in a lossless format. There is also a USB-A port (5V and 2A), an Ethernet port, and an RS-232C port.
The sensor is equipped with motorized focus, zoom (2.1x), and lens shift. The latter has a ± 96.3% vertical and ± 47.1% horizontal excursion, useful for increasing versatility during installation.
According to Epson, the new projectors will be available in Europe from the month of October. The Epson EH-LS11000W has only white color for 4,777.30 euros. The EH-LS12000B version comes in black and costs 5,082.32 euros.
