Fitbit Luxe, Charge 5 Are Updated With New Features

Fitbit has announced new software updates for its smart bracelets, which finally confirmed that the update brings new features to the Fitbit Luxe and Charge 5. According to the company, users will now have a feature to locate the paired smartphone through the accessory itself.

If the user has lost the smartphone in a specific environment – such as indoors or at the gym, it will be possible to find it through an alarm activated by the accessory. To do this, just access the new “Find Phone” application and press the button with the same name for the device to start ringing, even if it is in silent mode.

It is necessary that the smartphone is within a radius of approximately 10 meters and with Bluetooth turned on so that it can receive the signal from the smartband and trigger the alarm. The Fitbit app, which got a new look in July, must be running in the background and, of course, the wristband must be paired with the app.

In addition to this feature, the Fitbit Luxe and Charge 5 will receive new watch faces giving more system customization options. The screenshot below shows the “Boom” theme in two different colors, followed by a new look with a more classic tone with Roman numerals — this one will be exclusive to Fitbit Luxe.

Updates are being released to users starting this Tuesday (August 2). Interestingly, a limited portion of the public received the features last week via a silent update. Soon, the manufacturer should launch new models of smart bracelets without Google’s Wear OS, but with their own user interface.
