Honor X20 5G Smartphone Launched With MediaTek SoC

Soon after announcing the new family of Honor Magic 3 smartphones, Honor has come up with a new smartphone, the Honor X20. The new smartphone arrives as a mid-range device, with MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC. The Honor X20 offers a 6.67-inch LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Similar to the big brothers of the Magic 3 series, the 16MP front camera is contained in an elongated hole in the upper left. In the back instead, we find a three-camera module consisting of a 64 MP main sensor accompanied by two 2MP sensors used to improve the depth and macro shots. The device is available in three colors: night black, aurora blue, and titanium silver.

As for the internal components, the Honor X20 comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC coupled with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via a MicroSD. The battery has a capacity of 4300 mAh and supports fast charging at 66W. This allows the device to recharge from 0 to 50% in just 15 minutes, while the Chinese company claims that the battery allows you to do a whole day without recharging the device.

Even the Honor X20, although not a flagship device, equips a technology that allows you to “expand” the RAM in an intelligent way, adding 2GB of additional memory, thus allowing the smartphone to reach up to 10 GB of RAM. The technology uses a ROM space that is allocated to work as if it were a RAM. However, we know that mass memories, although very fast, will never be as fast as those of a RAM, so this feature can only be useful in particular or in extreme cases.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor X20 will be available in China starting today August 13 in three combinations of RAM and ROM – 6+128, 8+1,28, and 8+256. The price starts at 1899 Yaun for the 6GB+128GB variant.
