Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, today at the India Mobile Congress unveiled JioSpaceFiber, a satellite-based broadband internet service. JioSpaceFiber is designed to provide high-speed internet access to remote and underserved areas of India that do not have access to fiber optic or wireless networks. It will use a fleet of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver internet connectivity to users.
A few months back, Jio launched the Jio AirFiber wireless broadband service which is currently available in select cities.
JioSpaceFiber is expected to offer speeds of up to 1 Gbps, which is significantly faster than traditional internet services. It is also expected to have low latency, which is important for online gaming and other applications that require real-time performance.
It will be available to both residential and commercial users and is expected to be priced competitively with other broadband internet services in India.
