LG UltraGear Gaming Laptop is Really a Beast

LG announces its first laptop dedicated to the gamer audience. The UltraGear 17G90Q moves away from the polished look of the models already present in the LG’s portfolio to adopt a more attractive design for gamers, including more robust features and areas with LED and RGB lighting. LG UltraGear gaming laptop comes with a 17-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD resolution.

The display’s high fluidity is denoted by the 300 Hz refresh rate and good agility with a response time of just 1 ms. The display is distributed between edges thick enough to house a 1080p resolution camera.

The model has a backlit RGB keyboard and a metallic body that displays the “UG” logo on the back. An area that houses an Ethernet port, two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and input for headphones, plus it includes a Micro SD card slot and a digital reader built into the power button.

Moving on to the hardware details, the notebook looks like an “advanced project”, after all, it uses Intel’s 11th generation “H” series processors. Choosing not to wait for the release of 12th generation chips for notebooks, scheduled to be made available in early 2022, according to industry sources.

The specific models of the processors that equip the UltraGear 17G90Q have not yet been revealed, but we know that the graphics performance of the new gaming notebooks will be signed by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q with a 256-bit interface. What’s more, there will be versions with 16GB and 32GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

To keep the hardware temperature stable, LG selected a cooling system with vapor chambers. Also contributes to the health of the 93 Wh battery, such that it should guarantee good autonomy during periods of use outside the socket. The component is loaded via a standard DC input.
