New HP Omen 17 and Omen 16 Gaming Laptops Announced

Along with the new Victus gaming laptop lineup, HP also announced the 2021 editions of its Omen gaming laptops, HP Omen 17 and HP Omen 16. The new Omen series notebooks to the global market, geared towards the gamer category with a focus on making games more fluid and beautiful for those who like to play anywhere.

The new models are the Omen 16, the first gaming notebook equipped with the AMD Radeon RX 6000M graphics card, while the larger model, the Omen 17, remains with the well-known GeForce RTX 3080 for notebooks.

HP Omen 17 Features

Equipped with the newest generation of Intel Tiger Lake-H processors with powerful Core i9-11900H configuration, the Omen 17 arrives with the aforementioned NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory and 512 GB of NVMe M storage .2 on SSD.

The model arrives with a 17.3-inch IPS LCD screen in QHD resolution options with a refresh rate of 165 Hz or Full HD resolution with a rate of 144 Hz. Both panels offer up to 300 nit brightness with 100% color coverage sRGB.

Meanwhile, Omen 16 comes in two configurations: Intel and AMD. The first offers an Intel Core i7-11800H 11th generation Tiger Lake-H processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU for notebooks, while the second has a Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and Radeon RX 6000M GPU, being the first notebook with such a graphics card.

Both versions have 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory, while the AMD version offers up to 1 TB of NVMe M.2 storage on SSD and the Intel version has up to 512 GB, also on NVMe M.2 SSD.

Regarding the display, both versions, Intel and AMD, have a 16.1-inch screen with QHD resolution, IPS LCD panel and a 165 Hz rate with a peak of up to 300 nit and 100% sRGB coverage.
