PS4 10.1 Update Brings Performance and Stability Improvements

Sony released an update for the PS4 with improvements to web browsing and Remote Play in early September. The PS4 10.1 update comes with performance and stability improvements for the console. This version is not yet available for the PS5.

As reported by the MeuPlayStation portal, the update does not mention new features other than performance and stability improvements for PlayStation 4, so we recommend that you download it on your console to get all the improvements as soon as possible.

To install the update on your PlayStation, just access the Settings menu and check for new updates, but if you want, you can also download the update from the link below and follow the instructions:

After downloading the file, format a flash drive with the FAT32 file system, create the “PS4” folder, and inside it the “UPDATE” folder, where you must place the downloaded file with the name “PS4UPDATE.PUP”.

Connect the USB stick to your PS4 and start it in safe mode by pressing the power button until you hear two beeps. On the screen select the option “Update system software” in Safe Mode and then “Update from USB storage device”. Finish by confirming OK and wait for the update to be installed.
