Sony FX3 Full-Frame Camera Announced

Sony announces its new camera focussing on content creators and cinema effects, Sony FX3 Full-Frame Camera. It manages to bring elements that deliver considerable improvements in image quality together with features already familiar to those who use mirrorless alpha models, for example.

The body of the FX3 camera is being considered the lightest among the full-frame options of the Cinema line present at Sony. It has only 715 grams, in addition to the size also being compact, since it measures 77.8 x 129.7 x 84, 5mm.

“The FX3 is the perfect tool for content creators looking to enter the world of cinematography,” said Neal Manowitz, deputy president for Imaging Products and Solutions Americas at Sony Electronics. “It combines everything our customers love about Sony’s video capabilities in our Alpha lineup with a new body optimized for videography. We are excited to add to Sony’s Cinema Line and continue to support the world’s creators with the best tools possible.”

Sony has managed to deliver three different formats of aspects of an ideal use for content creators, which are:

  • Operability: the most used buttons are on the handle and on the upper part of the machine’s body and can be used with one hand. The zoom lever ensures precise and uninterrupted zoom, while the rotating LCD touch screen allows you to shoot from all angles.
  • Reliability: active cooling ensures efficient heat dissipation. The camera is made of magnesium alloy, which is durable, dust, and moisture-proof.
  • Expandability: FX3 is compatible with the S-Log3 gamma profile with S-Gamut3.Cine color space supports XAVC S, XAVC SI in 4K, and FHD and XAVC HS formats. It integrates slots for two CFexpress A cards, in which data can be saved simultaneously as a backup. Recording generally switches between tabs when the first one runs out.
