Xiaomi has announced the launch of its new storage unit with advantageous capacity and performance, the Xiaomi Mobile SSD 1 TB. With this, Xiaomi is betting on the hardware market that focuses on portability and agility in transferring files between different platforms.
With a sturdy aluminum body, the device features different connectivity interfaces including USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and USB 2.0. The SSD also comes with USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C cables, ensuring most mobile phones, tablets or computers are compatible.
The broad compatibility strategy allows the device to be used to transfer files on older operating systems including Windows 7, macOS X 10.6, Android 9, Ubuntu 16, and their respective later versions.
Xiaomi Mobile SSD 1 TB is available through crowdfunding at the brand’s official store. You can get it before official sales for ¥649. At the end of the campaign, the storage unit will be sold in China at a suggested retail price of 799 yen. For now, there is no forecast for release in other countries.
