AMD Ryzen 9 5900 Appears in Benchmarking Tests

Introduced in November last year, the AMD Ryzen 5000 (Vermeer) processor family continues to grow. After the leak of the specifications of two new models – Ryzen 7 5800 and Ryzen 9 5800, now the most advanced model AMD Ryzen 9 5900 appears in a benchmarking test.

As noted in the comparison, the Ryzen 9 5900 has a lower performance than the previously launched model, despite having the same 12 cores, with 64 MB cache and 7 nm lithography. This is due, above all, to its TDP reduced to 65W, which will cause its performance to drop to 3.0 GHz (against 3.7 GHz of the 5900X) in basic clock, despite maintaining almost equivalent in maximum frequency – 4, 7 GHz versus 4.8 GHz.

Its main advantage over the 5900X is its energy efficiency, making it an interesting option for those who want to combine high performance and low value. The new models of its high-end line of processors, with a focus on gaming, will be only OEMs, that is, they can only be found pre-installed on PCs from third-party manufacturers, following the pattern of other chips in the same family.
