First Android Go Smartphone ‘ZTE Tempo Go’ Arrives in The US

ZTE launches its first smartphone in the US running on Android Go, the ZTE Tempo Go which is now available to buy with a price tag as low as $80. This handset was first showcased during 2018’s Mobile World Congress tech show.

It’s worth noting that the Go Edition is based on the latest Android Oreo operating system for entry-level smartphones with at least 1GB of RAM. It has got some apps which are light in size as compared to the normal Android apps, such as Google Go, Assistant Go, Maps Go, etc.

Specifications of ZTE Tempo Go Smartphone

It is driven by a 1.1Ghz Snapdragon 210 chipset coupled with just 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The storage can be further increased via a Micro-SD card up to 32GB and used for apps installation which is possible through Android’s Adoptable storage function.

The Tempo Go smartphone sports a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854p) display and for the selfie, it has a 2MP front camera along with a 5MP main rear camera. There is a 2,200mAh battery which is claimed to offer up to 220 hours of standby time and 12 hours of talk time.

On the connectivity front, it is equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LTE support.

ZTE is not the first company to launch a smartphone based on Android Oreo (Go Edition), prior to this HMD Global had also launched Nokia 1 smartphone running on Android Go.
