Google’s Bard Could Be the Biggest Rival to ChatGPT

ChatGPT is taking the world by storm with its AI capabilities, and now Google is also prepping to enter this space with the launch of Bard. It could the biggest rival and ChatGPT alternative powered by LaMDA. Currently introduced as an experimental conversational AI service to rival the technology that can be integrated into Microsoft’s Bing.

The news was announced by the company’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, who points out that the service intends to answer user questions and also promote conversations. For now, the service will be restricted to some test users but should reach the general public in the coming weeks.

“We are working on an experimental conversational AI service, powered by LaMDA, which we are calling Bard. Today, we’re taking it a step further by opening it up to credible testing before making it more widely available to the public in the coming weeks. Initially, we are launching Bard with a version of our lighter LaMDA model. This model requires significantly less computing power, allowing us to scale to more users, and allowing for more feedback.”

Bard relies on information from the web to provide fresh answers, suggesting that the system will constantly be updated with new data. Google must be running after the loss now that ChatGPT has been made available for free on the internet, generating the most different reactions and utilities from the automatic generation of texts — from school work to writing sentences in courts. We’ve already talked about the applications of ChatGPT.
