Look and Design of Vivo V9
At first glance, Vivo V9 is a big and long phone. And because of the notch, it gets a glimpse of the iPhone X. There is one more thing that we liked – apart from Notch – that it’s light in weight. The phone is quite compact and easily fits in the hand. However, it does not seem very difficult to use it with one hand.
The front is fully occupied by the screen and the screen is bezel-less and comes with a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. That gives a lot of fun watching multimedia. Despite the 6-inch screen, the phone weighs 150 grams and it feels light in hand. Talking about the rear, there are two rear sensors at the top left corner of the phone and an LED flash just below them. The rear camera setup is vertical.
There is also a fingerprint sensor on the rear and below you will see Vivo’s branding in big letters. The phone is quite thin and with a thickness of 7.99 millimeters it seems convenient to use and this is because of its curved edges.
The V9 is launched in Pearl Black and Champagne Gold Color. The phone comes with a rear glossy look, which enhances its beauty. But you will need to clean the rear panel repeatedly because it catches finger spots result during use on it.
At the bottom of the phone, you will find a 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker grill, and micro-USB port. Volume and power buttons are given on the right. We think the quality of these buttons could be further improved. There is a dual sim slot on the left side of the phone. Many apps are already installed on the phone because of the FunTouch OS. Many of Vivo’s apps include iMusic, Feedback, Lock, Vivo Cloud, iManager, EasyShare, Video, V-AppStore, and Notes.
Apart from this, work apps like popular third-party apps such as Facebook, Whatsapp, UC Browser, Amazon, Prime Video, and NewsPoint will also be found. But the worst thing is that Vivo has not given the option of deleting these apps, which means you will have to keep them on the phone even if you do not need them.

Now coming to the feature which the company is most admiring. The phone’s selfie camera- V9 has a 24-megapixel front camera with an aperture of F/2.0. The front camera is equipped with modes like Face Beauty, Face Beauty Video Call, Rear Time Camera Filter, HDR Mode, Portrait, and Gender Detection. Vivo is continuously working on its selfie camera and V9 is also a part of the same development. AR stickers can be used with selfie cameras for selfie amateurs.
The phone comes with the best selfies and can be shared directly on social media. Selfies are a and colors look good too. The front camera works fast and we’re impressed with the autofocus too. Vivo V9 will also enjoy a feature like Apple’s live photo record. Apart from this, Portrait Bokeh mode is also in the front camera, which blends the background using the software. Users can also use Palm (palm) gestures to click selfies.
Talking about the rear camera, the phone has two vertical sensors of 16 megapixels and 5 megapixels equipped with an LED light. Vivo V9 is a perfect and powerful phone for everyday use. Due to the duo of Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor and 4GB RAM, most of the work on the phone is easily done without any hassle. 64 GB of inbuilt storage is sufficient and can be extended up to 256 GB via a MicroSD card.
The phone’s display is one of its key features. It leaves a good impression watching videos and playing games.
Vivo has moved one step ahead with the aspect ratio of 19:9 because other companies are still giving an 18:9 display ratio. The fingerprint sensor on the rear of the V9 is quick. Face Unlock works fast but only if there is enough light. You can also use the fingerprint sensor to click a picture. Speaking of call quality, this Vivo phone supports VoLTE and the quality is good. Earphones available with the phone have good audio quality. Due to the Dual SIM slot, you will be able to simultaneously use two SIM cards and a MicroSD card.
The 3260 mAh non-removable battery is available to power the phone. Once charging we could keep the phone for more than one day. With the use of media, the phone goes for 36 hours which is the best. Apart from this, we saw that in about an hour the phone is charging more than 50 percent.

The most important question is why should one buy the Vivo V9? Vivo V9, which comes with a lot of features, is a strong contender. This is the first smartphone to come to India with a notch along with a 19:9 aspect ratio display. That means you will enjoy the design of the iPhone X at a low price (in case of the notch). We also liked the camera performance. We enjoyed using the AR stickers given in the selfie camera.
The company should have paid a little more attention to the software. We liked the phone overall. Vivo V9 is a perfect package launched at Rs 22,990. The phone is now available in offline and online retail stores across the country. The V9 will be competing in the market with the already existing Moto X4, the Samsung Galaxy A8+, and Oppo F7. Oppo F7 will prove to be its biggest competitor.
