A few months ago, Casio revealed new models of analog watches inspired by its classic design to some markets. This month, another model will arrive in the manufacturer’s catalog – the Casio G-SHOCK GBA900 is a hybrid smartwatch with outstanding cost-effectiveness among competitors.
Unlike the GSW-H1000 model, the wearable does not have the wearOS system, however, it is possible to connect it via Bluetooth to the user’s smartphone through the G-SHOCK Move application, available for Android and iOS.
With resistance to impacts and water (up to 200 meters in depth), the watch can automatically measure the time that a certain distance is covered by the user through the GPS system. It can also recognize daily training and timing intervals and laps to improve the experience in racing modalities.

In addition, the Casio G-SHOCK GBA900 has features that facilitate and improve its use. Such as the possibility to program up to five alarms, integrated energy-saving mode, support for different time zones with two simultaneous hands, and an automatic calendar.
The watch has holes that allow air to circulate to avoid moisture on the skin. It features a case, bezel, and band made of resin and has mineral glass on its panel. This provides scratch resistance and greater durability of the material, resulting in a device of only 61 grams.
The traditional CR2025 battery offers up to two years of battery life until a replacement is required. To save its useful life, the smartwatch is equipped with Super Illuminator, dynamic double LED technology that illuminates the panel outdoors, in addition to Bluetooth SMART technology for exchanging data at low power with the smartphone.
Hybrid smartwatches are gaining prominence in the wearable market due to their design inspired by traditional watches, without giving up the advanced features that fitness bracelets currently offer.
Pricing and Availability
Already available in some European countries, such as Italy, the Casio G-SHOCK GBA900 hybrid smartwatch comes at a suggested price of US $ 130 and is expected to reach other countries on the continent soon.
