Finally, Samsung has launched its much-awaited flagship Note device, the Galaxy Note 8 in India. The Galaxy Note 8 was first launched at the Samsung’s global unveiling event last month, and now the handset has arrived the Indian shores.

It’s worth noting that besides Samsung, Apple is also holding its event to launch the iPhone 8 and iPhone X at an event in California. So stay tuned, we’ll be covering that too.

The Note 8 device comes equipped with Samsung’s own virtual assistant called Bixby which was introduced in July this year in Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. In Indian, Bixby will understand Indian accents, dialects, and context.

Somewhat similar to Xiaomi’s Mi MIX2 full display with nearly zero bezels, the Galaxy Note 8 comes with a huge 6.3-inch QHD+ (1440×2960 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity Display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Being a big device, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat running Note 8 is driven by Samsung’s Octa Core Exynos 8895 processor clocked at 2.3GHz paired with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

There is a dual camera setup at the rear, and this is the first time ever any smartphone has optical image stabilization (OIS) in both rear cameras. The one is of 12-megapixels with a wide-angle lens, while the another one is also a 12-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens and an f/2.4 aperture. On the front sits an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with an aperture of f/1.7.

Samsung has also introduced an advanced S Pen which is just like the Galaxy Note 8 comes with the IP68 rating which enables it to withstand immersion in up to 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes.

Samsung has decided to give the Galaxy Note 8 the price tag of Rs. 67,900 in India for 64GB storage variant which has been launched at the moment. The handset is now available for pre-registrations for which the shipping will start from September 21 and it will be available in Maple Gold and Midnight Black color variants.

The company is giving an introductory offer to early buyers as a free wireless charger bundled with the handset. Interested customers will be able to grab the device offline via the select Samsung retail stores and online via Samsung online store, as well as Amazon India.
