After several leaks, we are finally seeing the official announcement of the Honor Magic 3 Series. It comes in three versions: Magic 3, Magic 3 Pro, and Magic 3 Pro Plus. As expected, the new phones arrive with circular camera modules on the rear and powerful specs like Snapdragon 888 Plus, 66W charging, and IMAX cinematic recording.
Let’s have a look at the design and features of the Honor Magic 3 Series.
Starting with the screen, both the Honor Magic 3 and Magic 3 Pro have a 6.76-inch FullHD 120Hz OLED display, curved edges, 10bit color, and a pill-shaped hole to house the 13-megapixel front camera and the ToF sensor for facial unlocking.
Complementing the design, we also find IP68 certification on Honor 3 Pro and IP54 on Magic 3. It guarantees protection against submersion and splashing water, respectively. There are options with a glass back and even vegan leather. The internal structure is made of aluminum.
Talking about the biggest strengths of both devices, we have a circular module on the rear with a 50MP Sony IMX 766 main sensor, a 64MP secondary monochrome sensor, and finally an ultrawide lens in the Magic 3.
The Magic 3 Pro model even has an additional 64MP telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid, or up to 100x digital zoom. Both models have laser focus and LED flash.
One of the interesting detail is that these are the first smartphones in the world enhanced by IMAX for video recording. Thus, both have a recording option in LOG format that improves captures and even brings more possibilities for editing, also featuring 8 LUT 3D color profiles.
