MSI Spatium SSDs With 3D NAND Memory Announced

MSI announces a series of SSDs for its extensive portfolio of advanced technology products that combine high performance and competitive prices. The new MSI “Spatium” line is presented with three models of different specifications — M480, M470, and M370.

SSDs offer error correction features such as the LPDC ECC and E2E Data Protection protocols, promoting greater reliability in data recording. In addition, all will be available with the option of capacity up to 2TB, with the most basic model offering the minimum space of 256GB.

MSI Spatium M480

The Spatium M480 matches the top of the line, offering read speeds of almost 7GB/s and data writing of up to 6.68GB/s via the PCI Express 4.0 and NVMe 1.4 standard. This disk has 3D NAND memory and built-in DRAM cache and supports SLC cache and encryption.

Then there is the mid-range model of the line. The Spatium M470 doesn’t lose many high-end features, keeping the fourth generation PCIe standard and capacity up to 2TB. However, the first generation of NAND memory is used to reduce its price, which brings down its performance for reads of 4.88 GB/s and writes of only 440 MB/s.

The entry-level model, Spatium M370, adopts the PCIe 3.0 interface to make your production even more accessible to the end consumer. Its speed reaches 2.3 GB/s read and 1.8 GB/s write. The controllers of none of the models were detailed, but it is likely that it is some module manufactured by Phison, a partner company of MSI.

MSI did not detail the price or release date of the new drives but reveals that they will all be sold with a 5-year warranty and will be available “in most global regions”, possibly going on pre-order in the coming weeks.
