Serious Sam 4 is Added by Surprise to Xbox Game Pass

In addition to its traditional Game Pass release schedule, Xbox appears to be experimenting with popping surprise games into the catalog. Previously, Serious Sam 4 was only available on PC and Google Stadia, but it was unannounced on Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5. Now it’s included in the Xbox Game Pass.

Serious Sam 4 is a first-person shooter where you defend the Earth from an invading army of aliens. In addition to a solo campaign, the game also features a cooperative mode for up to four players.

The game was not a success when it was released on PC, but developers had a year to optimize it for the latest generation of consoles. Also, there is no better way to test a game than to give it away.

Last week, Game Pass added the Townscaper and Generation Zero games by surprise, which should become common practice going forward, showing that it has more to offer than its monthly ads.

If you subscribe to the Game Pass and own an Xbox Series S/X, this is a great time to test the game and vouch for its quality (or lack thereof).
