Vivo Apex Concept Phone Launched, It Has Unique Fingerprint Technology

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has showcased something new at the MWC 2018 which no other company did so far. It has launched a full-view concept smartphone called Apex here at the event. This is the first smartphone in the world that comes with the highest screen-to-body ratio and half-screen in-display fingerprint scanning technology. This phone was screened at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, in Barcelona, Spain.
The company had introduced the Vivo X20 Plus UD, which was in-display fingerprint scanning technology in the International Consumer Electronics Show 2018 (CES) last month. This is the first phone in the world to come up with this technology.

“We are committed to bringing new technology and features with our every product, and Apex is no exception,” said Vivo’s Senior Vice President Alex Feng in a statement. “Apex’s design is just a glimpse of the product that is being worked on,” he said.
The Vivo Apex is 1.8 millimeter thin at the top and bottom. And the company is touting it to be the world’s thinnest. It has 4.3 millimeters bezel at the bottom, while screen-to-body ratio is 98 percent.
The smartphone maker has provided the world’s first half-screen in-display fingerprint scanning technology in Apex phone. Through this, the lower half of the phone’s OLED screen works as a fingerprint sensor.
This concept device has an 8-megapixel front camera which pops up every time a use needs it. This phone also supports Vivo’s screen soundcasting technology which makes vibration through the display without the need of a traditional loudspeaker.
Some of the features of this smartphone are really groundbreaking. However, when it will be launched for users, we might see some addition or deduction in some of its features. At present, the company has not said anything about its hardware specifications, price and availability.
Last year we saw some smartphones that also came with bezel-less display or full-view display like the iPhoneX, Galaxy Note 8 and the Essential Phone, but the Vivo Apex has left them behind when we talk of screen-to-body ratio.
