Android 11 Update for Nokia 8.1 and 2.3 Rolling Out

HMD Global announces the release of Android 11 update for Nokia 2.3 and 8.1 phones. The information was shared through Nokia’s official forum, and the company also posted on Twitter. According to the manufacturer, Nokia 8.1 will be updated in 9 markets in the first wave. Thus, only 10% of users will have access to the new software.

The intention is to do some preliminary tests and check the stability of Android 11. If the update does not bring any problems, the availability will be expanded to new regions. The initial list includes the following countries:

  • Malaysia
  • Macau
  • Nepal
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • Vietnam

10% of these approved markets will receive the update immediately, 50% by April 10th, and on April 12th, 100% of these markets will have received the Android 11 update.

Nokia 2.3 also follows the same update model as variant 8.1. However, the phone receives Android 11 in 16 countries, and it is expected that all users will be given the software by April 12.

Remember that Android 11 brings a lot of news. Some examples include a dedicated shortcut for playing media in the notification drawer, new privacy options, bubble chats, more shortcuts on the power button and native screen recording.
