Without making any hype, Nvidia has launched its new Pascal-based Nvidia GT 1010 graphics card. This new card has a Pascal GP108 chip, 256 CUDA cores, and 2GB of VRAM GDDR5 memory. Without any doubt, Nvidia is the brand that dominates the graphics chip market. And it keeps on surprising us with new products.
This year (2021) the Nvidia introduced the long-awaited graphics chips for GeForce RTX 3060, RTX 3070, and RTX 3080 notebooks. The existence of this GPU was first spotted by YouTuber Dapz in the drivers list, which is routinely made available by the manufacturer for product updates. See below his video:
Nvidia GeForce GT 1010 Specifications
Talking about the specifications, the Nvidia GT 1010 is based on Pascal and features a GP108 chip. Manufactured in a 14 nm process. It has 256 CUDA cores, 16 TMUs (Texture Mapping Unit) and 16 ROPs (Render Output Unit) and a base clock of 1,228 MHz, and a boost of up to 1,468 MHz.
As for memory, the card brings 2 GB of VRAM GDDR5, configured with a 64-bit interface. The TDP is only 30 W, meaning it can work with PCIe power without the need for other power connectors.
Availability
Right now, there is still no information on the availability of this chip in the market. It is possible that the GT 1010 may be available only on OEM systems and therefore cannot be purchased in stores. Anyway, we are waiting for an official announcement from Nvidia with new information, such as availability and prices.
